3915 Belton Drive – Lisa and Jim are one of our yard of the month winners in November.  Two large, gorgeous live oak trees frame this beautiful yard full of lush green plants.  Boxwoods, crepe myrtles, Japanese maples, potted plants and ornamental grasses fill the front of this house in a very pleasing and inviting way.

Thank you Lisa and Jim for all your hard work to best represent our neighborhood.  We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this lovely yard and home!

3936 Belton Drive – Kyong and Bruce are one of our yard of the month winners in November.  They are new to our neighborhood and have already done such a wonderful job with their gorgeous yard that greets us as we enter the addition from the main entrance on Midway.  Seasonal fall flowers add a pop of color to this well-manicured yard, and 2 large live oaks frame the house nicely.

Congratulations to Kyong and Bruce, and a big thank you for beautifying our neighborhood.  We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this lovely yard and home!

3816 Granbury Drive – Mimi and Byron are one of our yard of the month winners in October.  This gorgeous corner lot is truly eye catching with the variety of unique and interesting colors, textures and sizes it puts on display.  The Japanese maple next to the entrance and the lawn ornaments give an Asian feel to this yard, and every flower and bush is placed with careful attention to harmony. 

Congratulations to Mimi and Byron, and a big thank you for beautifying our neighborhood.  We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this lovely yard and home!

3908 Granbury Drive – Ben is one of our October yard of the month winners.  This yard is just simple beauty.  Tall and lush red impatiens line the entire front of the house from end to end, which create such a nice contrast against the white stucco.  Two very tall oak trees complete the picture.

3639 White River Drive – Rob and Vicki are one of our Yard of the Month winners this month.   As you walk up to this home, you can tell that purple is the theme this fall.  At every corner and around both large trees, lush and healthy purple hearts are planted, and along with the white and pink dianthus, this attractive yard makes you smile as you walk past it. 

We want to thank Rob and Vicki for the pride they take in beautifying their yard and our neighborhood.  We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this lovely yard and home!

3729 White River Drive – Herb and Rhonda are the other Yard of the Month winners in September.  Beautiful yellow lantanas line the way from the sidewalk to their front door, and white and pink impatiens surround the vibrant purple fountain grass and the shade tree on each side.  Crepe myrtles and boxwood hedges round off this well designed and colorful yard.

3840 Walden Way – Pat and Loretta Tomes are one of our Yard of the Month winners in August.  Two healthy and prominent cypress trees, surrounded by boxwood, nandinas, crepe myrtles, colorful bushes and flowers, frame the door to this lovely home.  The begonias and purple heart plants are full and lovely this time of year.  Loretta gave all the credit for this jewel of a yard and the flawless lawn to Pat.  It is clear this yard is a labor of love.We want to thank Pat and Loretta for representing our neighborhood so well.  We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this lovely yard and home!

Michael Beauchamp and Michael Wharton are our other Yard of the Month winners in August.  Two giant sleeping lions lead you up this windy walkway surrounded by a large variety of bushes and flowers. You can spot hydrangeas, caladiums, and tiny rose bushes as you explore this fun yard. We want to thank Michael and Michael for taking pride in their yard and beautifying our neighborhood.  We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this lovely yard and home!

July 2018 Yard of the Month!

Beth Wigington and her daughter Laura Philips own the prettiest yard on Sam Rayburn this July. Beth is the mastermind behind the vibrant colors and fantastic smells of this gorgeous yard, which is equally beautiful in the back and side of the house. She tirelessly works in the yard every day and as a result, we are rewarded with deep purple petunias, bright green sweet potato vines and lovely zinnias every time we walk down their street. A neat row of crepe myrtles and small bushes round out the look nicely.

We want to thank Beth and Laura for representing our neighborhood so well.  We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this lovely yard and home!

June 2018 | 18410 Summerfield Drive

 Nick and Kathy Carrington are our June winners.  Even though the judging occurred in the middle of their yard beautification project, they still stole the judges’ hearts and secured the top spot even before they had planted everything and added mulch.  Their beautiful stone-lined walkway to the front door is lush with colorful flowers and bushes, and the variety of plants, from Caladiums, ornamental grasses, rose bushes, begonias, create an eye-catching display along with the rest of the landscape.

May 2018 | 3708 and 3715 Rodale Way

One of May’s two winners are Mike and Karen Fernandes. Two beautiful red oaks provide ample shade to this lovely yard full of color and lush green plants. Two potted rose bushes lead you into their cozy seating area that invites you to sit and enjoy an afternoon surrounded by Japanese maple and American holly, dragon wing begonias and other colorful flowers.

We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this home as our May winner and thank Mike and Karen for taking pride in their yard and home!

Another of May’s two winners is Tom Crull. This beautiful and neatly kept yard and lawn, with a wide variety of flowers, plants and bushes is very eye-catching. Marigolds, Salvias, flowering cabbages, roses, and Mexican hats are among the many flowers adding color this this lovely yard, while Nandina bushes with red berries line the wall leading up to the front door.

April 2018 | 3932 Belton Drive

This month’s winners are Elliott and Leslie Cole. Their meticulously arranged plants and heavily mulched yard are ready to welcome the spring with a beautiful variety of flowers and bushes that are sure to delight the passersby even more by the end of the month as all the flowers bloom. The Salvia, Scabiosas, Pansies and Calla Lilies add lovely color to the yard already. Kaleidoscope Abelia, Sprinter Boxwood and Nandina bushes line the yard beautifully, protected by two gorgeous red oaks.

March 2018 | 3923 Granbury Drive

Edd and Carol Maxcey are the proud winners for March. Cherene presented the award letter to Carol. While they chatted, Carol told Cherene they were the original owners of their lovely home. She explained it was one of the model homes in the development.

They both stood admiring the lovely array of colorful Pansies that were thriving throughout the yard and Carol pointed out the Hydrangeas were just beginning to sprout and her Azealia bushes were full of potential flower buds about to bloom.  It was very clear that the Maxceys truly took immense pride in their yard.

It was a real pleasure to meet Carol and have the opportunity to tell her just how much we appreciate homeowners like Carol and Edd.  They are beautifying our neighborhood and displaying why Midway Meadows is a great place to live.

February 2018 | 3717 White River

February’s winners, John and Denise Broadhead have been Midway Meadows residents since July 2002. John clarified that Denise is the gardener in charge of their yard.  When asked about the lush, thick grass, Cherene was told it was Zoysia, which Denise clarified it was Palisades Zoysia. Denise was the gardening authority for the Broadhead household.  John mentioned how much dogs just love to roll around on their soft lawn. They also had several ornamental plants that were quite colorful during the winter that made their yard an eye catcher.  The lawn was lush and neatly trimmed, without a leaf in sight, which is rare this time of year.

2017 Winners

December 2017 | 3711 White River

2017’s holiday decoration winners are Dwayne and Janice Pickens. Their yard features multi-colored large bulbs that line their landscaping and creates a welcoming candy lane effect. The entryway continues the invitations with bushes blanketed in red and green lights!

November 2017 | 3804 Walden Way

November’s winners are Perla and Aimara Ramirez. Their yard has a beautiful variety of flowering and evergreen bushes to perform throughout the year. You will see periwinkles, roses, a variety of ornamental grasses, yaupon hollies, pink hydrangea, lamb’s ear, sage, cannas and Japanese maple.

October 2017 | 3713 Sam Rayburn Trail

October’s winners are Ken and Linda Haupt. When you drive by their yard, you first see their two bookend, beautiful shade trees. Next you see their evergreen beds with Indian Hawthorne, nandina and silver blue variegated hydrangea as well as annual sweet potato vines. All is edged in by firewitch dianthus that blooms showy pink flowers in the spring.

September 2017 | 18328 Summerfield

Christel Culbertson’s yard, September’s winner, is one of the first yards that greet us as we enter Midway Meadows from Midway. First, we see her 4 tall cypress evergreens towering from her serene back yard. Next, we see evergreen Japanese yews and nandinas as we enter the neighborhood. Her front yard features azaleas, hot pink tree roses, Chinese fringe flowers, gerbera daisies, crepe myrtles and a hydrangea while a yellow esperanza is in full bloom greeting alley drivers. One of her mature live oaks even keeps a watchful eye over the neighborhood.

August 2017 | 3641 Rodale Way

Adelise Valle and Nathalia Goncalves are new to Texas and are enjoying creating a lush, flowering oasis surrounding their new home. Her yard features an oval splash bed with colorful layers of variegated canna, New Guinea impatiens and pink caladiums. In her other beds, she has playful frogs peeking out to welcome visitors.

July 2017 | 3931 Belton Drive

The Arands are relatively new to Midway Meadows and have enjoyed creating a beautiful front lawn and flower bed layered to pop with color through the seasons. Their entrance sidewalk welcomes you to the floral show of calla lilies, pink skullcap, Chinese fringe Eflowers, begonias, crepe myrtles, lantana, dwarf Mexican petunias set against variegated pittosporum, Indian Hawthorne and a Japanese maple.

June 2017 | 3711 White River Drive

Janice and Dwayne Pickens’ yard has a variety of beautiful shrubs including Chinese fringe flowers, crepe myrtles, holly and privet as well as hostas and some colorful annuals. What steals the show though is the adorable bird bath with a golfer patiently waiting out the rain!

We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to the Pickens and thank them for taking pride in their yard and home!

May 2017 | 3819 Granbury Drive

Mikkel and Marlyse Bassett’s yard features two large live oak trees that provide space for a beautiful shade garden to flourish. It is a flower power show with begonias, marigolds, zinnias, day lilies, daisies, tree roses alongside caladiums, variegated grasses, ferns and soon to bloom hydrangeas.

We are proud to award the yard of the month to this home as our May winner and thank the Bassetts for taking pride in their yard and home!

April 2017 | 3832 Walden Way

April’s winners, Jim and Stevie Wilkin, have been Midway Meadows residents for over 23 years. They recently updated their landscape beds creating a neat, manicured look complete with Chinese fringe flowers, crape myrtles, ornamental grass, juniper and Katie dwarf Ruellias. The charming two-story white and brown bird house was handmade by Jim’s brother.

March 2017 | 3607 Sam Rayburn Trail

March was delightfully mild with generous rains awakening many of our spring flowers. March’s winner, Muralyn Jackier, is one of the first owners at Midway Meadows. Muralyn’s yard is layered with plants for all seasons, especially spring. There are boxwood bushes, Chinese fringe flowers, ajuga, daffodils, daisies, lavender pincushions, geraniums, and variegated grasses all under the watchful eye of a playful stone frog.
We are proud to award the Calloway’s yard of the month to this home as our March winner and thank Muralyn for taking pride in her yard and home!

February 2017 | 18414 Summerfield Drive

Our Texas weather kept us and our yards all guessing if spring arrived early. After an up and down January, the thermometer almost hit 90 degrees in February. The winning yard is tucked away at the north end of Summerfield and well suited to handle our unpredictable weather. Lori Hunt’s beautiful yard is layered with evergreen and soon to bloom shrubs including crape myrtles, roses, azaleas, dwarf pampa grass, Indian hawthorn and a variety of hollies. They all center around her lovely, mature oak tree on an island of Asian jasmine in the middle of a circle drive. If you look closely, you will also see a few playful lawn ornaments peeking out adding a sense of fun.
